The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning health officials to be on the lookout for signs of the Ebola-like Marburg virus in the U.S.
The CDC published a health advisory on Thursday to “increase awareness of the risk of imported cases in the United States” pertaining to Marburg virus disease (MVD) after two outbreaks were confirmed in Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea.
“Currently, the risk of MVD in the United States is low; however, clinicians should be aware of the potential for imported cases,” the CDC said.
