Shi'ite Muslim Cleric In Saudi Daily: Islam Is A Humane Religion; Allah Permits War Only In Self-Defense; The Prophet Forbade Harming Civilians And Children
In an article he published in the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh against the backdrop of the war raging in Gaza, Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini, a moderate Shi'ite cleric who holds Lebanese and Saudi citizenship and is the secretary-general of the Arab Islamic Council, writes that Islam champions peace and sanctifies human life, and has never been a religion of violence, bloodshed or war. Islam, he explains, permits fighting only in self-defense and in accordance with specific rules and under specific conditions, such as, when the Muslims are prepared and have the required equipment, and when a ruler deems it necessary. He asserts that any jihad that does not meet these conditions is forbidden. Al-Husseini claims that, in the time of the Prophet Muhammad, the Muslims never initiated war, despite the oppression they suffered, and that Allah only permitted them to fight after 13 years of persecution, and even then only in self-defense. The Prophet, he adds, was determined to avoid bloodshed and being drawn into war, and therefore pursued all the diplomatic means and avenues to achieve peace. And even when war was forced upon the Muslims, the Prophet instructed them not to torture people or harm children and civilians. Al-Husseini provides quotations from the Quran and the Hadith to support his claims.
It should be noted that Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini is known for his moderate positions and his criticism of Hizbullah and of Iran. In 2020 he was among a delegation of 25 Muslim clerics, headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, that paid a historic visit, the first of its kind, to the Auschwitz concentration camp. He was granted Saudi citizenship in 2021.

Iranian Islamic Scholar Mehdi Daneshmand: I Recommend That Iranian Youth Read 'The Protocols Of Zion' – It Is So Vile And Disgusting, One Feels Ashamed To Read What The Zionists Think Of Muslims And Christians
Iranian Islamic scholar Mehdi Daneshmand discussed the “Protocols of Zion” on a November 20, 2023 show on Ofogh TV (Iran), imploring the youth to read them. He said that he feels ashamed to read the Protocols, because they are so “vile and disgusting” that he cannot bring himself to say what the Jews think of Muslims and Christians, and which animal they compare the home of a Muslim to. Daneshmand advised that “the dear young people” read books about the dangers of Zionism and that universities and religious seminaries should teach the subjects of “Judeology” and “Zionology.”

On November 29, 2023, Abu Alaa Al-Wala'i, the top commander of Iran-backed Iraqi Sayyed Al-Shuhada' Brigades, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he renewed his support for the Palestinians.
The post marks the day, organized by the United Nations, which is called the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.” It is held every year.
The brigades' faction commanded by Al-Wala'i operates under the so-called “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” which has claimed dozens of attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria in support of Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel. Al-Wala'i, who says he is a man of peace, wrote in his post:
“On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we affirm the following: We are not advocates of war, but rather men of peace, peace coupled with dignity and pride and the rejection of all forms of occupation, aggression and bloodshed, peace that preserves the sovereignty of nations, the peoples their dignity, and the sanctity of the holy sites.”
