The restaurant owner who sparked a police raid on a local Kansas newspaper has been unmasked as new footage emerges of an explosive council meeting where she accused officials of leaking her DUI information.
Kari Newell, 46, is the woman who accused the Marion County Record of getting her 2008 DUI information illegally, which would have disrupted her request for a liquor license – triggering the multiple police raids on Friday.
Newspaper co-owner Joan Meyer, 98, collapsed and died following the intense stress and grief she felt when her home was raided by the entirety of the Marion Police Department in Kansas – headed by chief Gideon Cody.
