US House Rep. George Santos (R-NY) unveiled a bill this week that would prevent the federal government from being able to impose vaccine mandates on citizens.
Dubbed the “MINAJ Act” as a nod to rap star Nicki Minaj, Santos’ “Medical Information Nuanced Accountability Judgement Act,” HR 2631, would “prohibit any Federal Government from imposing any mandate requiring an individual to receive a vaccine that has not been authorized for marketing for at least ten years.”
“Medical Freedom is an absolute right,” Rep. Santos stated in a press release. “I urge my colleagues to join me in this mission to block tyrannical and draconian measures from being utilized by the Federal Government. If a public health emergency has been declared, then the federal agency looking to impose the mandate must submit a report to Congress and highlight the intent as well as the research behind the vaccine.”
During the height of the pandemic in Sept. 2021, Minaj famously refused to attend the Met Gala due to its vaccine mandate after claiming a friend of her cousin in Trinidad had a negative reaction to the vaccine in which “His testicles became swollen.”
