Abolitionists Rising, the Oklahoma-based Christian organization founded by T. Russell Hunter, continues its aggressive campaign to treat abortion as murder and secure immediate legal abolition rather than incremental restrictions.
In summer 2026 the group held its “We Will Be Heard” mission in Boston, Massachusetts (July 31–August 2). Activists conducted street outreach along the Freedom Trail and Faneuil Hall Marketplace, engaged passersby, and hosted a public lecture and debate titled “Abortion: Worse Than Slavery.” The effort targeted one of the most abortion-permissive cities in the country.
More recently the group released footage of campus outreach at the University of Colorado Boulder, where members debated students on the morality and legality of abortion. The organization also reported four members arrested at the Alamo in San Antonio earlier in 2026 after allegedly leaving a designated free-speech zone; supporters called the arrests a First Amendment violation.
Legislatively, abolitionist bills seeking equal protection for the preborn (criminalizing abortion as homicide) were introduced in 16 measures across 13 states in 2026, attracting more than 130 state lawmakers as sponsors or co-sponsors—more than double the support seen in 2024. The group remains openly critical of mainstream pro-life organizations that pursue gradual regulation instead of total abolition.
Abolitionists Rising continues to grow its online reach through viral debate videos and has previously claimed over one billion total views across platforms.
