Pastor Elijah chopping potatoes while Gabriella watches in fascination.
(Joshua and Danyella’s middle daughter)Last night Sister Linda and the rest of the family stayed the night at the church as we have for the past 26 years. We love them like family, as such we spend our turkey day with them. Though, it seems to be more like turkey week with all the preparation beforehand. For those that don’t yet know Pastor Dan passed away on Nov. 8th this year surrounded by family at home. Though I’ll admit, it’s going to be difficult without our Dad, Husband, Mentor, and many other roles he played to not only us but to countless people; we will continue to help as long as we are able and have provision to do so, the lord has held up the ministry for almost 30 years by faith and that faith is as strong as it has ever been, even greater. Pastor Dan has and will always be SORELY missed. Pastor Elijah and myself (Joshua) intend to remain with the mission and ofcourse Sister Linda (Mom) is staying strong too, not to mention my wonderful wife Sister Danyella of 10 years TODAY. Seems like only yesterday, and yet forever ago simultaneously. At almost the last minute yesterday we had a few people arrive to deliver 2 more turkeys totaling 10 this year, and both were about 21lb birds and a huge blessing, they even drove over 6 hours just to be able to help provide them WOW! That’s a hard trip for a lot of people, such love is wonderful. Special thanks to them and everyone else that helps support the work we do for the LORD and HIS people. The Mennonites youth group helped by preparing some food for us again this year. Last night was also spent preparing dessert plates, chopping 15lbs of potatoes, and so on for the rest of what’s needed before later today. This will be our 26th year having thanksgiving with them. Now folks the weather is at a not so pleasant place in the 40’s today, and supposed to drop to 30’s tonight. By Saturday it’s supposed to drop in the 20’s. We were blessed with warm clothing including coats, hats, flannels, and other items just in time PRAISED BE! These temperatures can be deadly, and we still need help with donations for Sleeping bags (BIGGEST THING), cold medicines, as well as to pay the bills. Please help us pray about getting these things or the provisions to do so to provide them for the people. Consider helping with a donation yourself, EVERY bit helps and is needed URGENTLY. Remember also that into December not many places, if any, are open often for food besides us. The ministry is overwhelmed with things at the time, though that hasn’t stopped us this far! The LORD has his hand in it!Luke 14:10-16
10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee,
Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Then said he also to him that bade him,
When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours;
lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
*13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:*
*14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.*
15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him,
Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. 16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
*IN HIS PERFECT PEACE, Pastor Joshua Catlin*
