During a Wednesday hearing with Attorney General Merrick Garland, Senator Charles Grassley stated that over a dozen “whistleblowers” had given the FBI information that could be considered criminal regarding Hunter Biden.
Merrick Garland currently serves as the United States attorney general, having been nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate in March 2021.
The Republican senator who was questioning Garland at his first Capitol Hill appearance this year, urged the Justice Department to investigate the president’s son. Hunter Biden had previously been the subject of a federal investigation related to tax issues and a possible false statement made while purchasing a firearm.
Grassley said, “Recent lawfully protected whistleblower disclosures to my office indicate that the Justice Department and FBI had at one time over a dozen sources that provided potentially criminal information relating to Hunter Biden.”
Grassley then asked Garland, “What steps has the Justice Department taken to determine the truth and accuracy of the information provided? Congress and the American people have a right to know.”
