Lee Smith, an author, columnist, and documentarian who has covered the political and media disinformation campaigns against Donald Trump from the onset of his presidency spoke on a Breitbart editor’s Sirius XM podcast this week and made some of the most forceful arguments yet that the F.B.I. raid on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate was rooted in a blatant effort to confiscate documents related to the “Russiagate” conspiracy.
Smith wasted no time analyzing the possible motives of the corrupt federal agency:
“I think the best way to understand this is in the context of a six-year-long operation targeting Donald Trump, Donald Trump’s aides, and Donald Trump’s supporters.
I have different colleagues and people whose insight and wisdom I trust very much, and they believe that what the FBI was looking for were documents related to … what the FBI called the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, but what most of the rest of us know as the Russiagate operation meant to target candidate Trump, then President-elect Trump, and then President Donald J. Trump.”
