District Court Judge Christopher Cooper may let Special Counsel John Durham question a Fusion GPS employee, Laura Seago, who has knowledge about the company’s decision to craft fake opposition research against then-candidate Donald Trump.
Fusion GPS coordinated with the law firm Perkins Coie and Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 presidential campaign to concoct the Russiagate hoax, and Seago, who Durham called a “Tech Maven,” may have a “unique insight” into the plan, the Epoch Times reported.
If the judge approves the request, Durham or other federal prosecutors would question Seago during Michael Sussmann‘s trial, which will begin on May 16 in Washington, D.C.
Durham sought charges against Sussmann for lying to the FBI about his relationship with Fusion GPS, the Hillary for America campaign, and the DNC. A federal grand jury approved a charge of making false statements in September 2021.
